Mokumé Gané Bands
There are 10 standard metal combinations:
- - 18K yellow gold, 14K palladium white gold, 14K red gold, and sterling silver
- 18K yellow gold, 14K palladium white gold, and sterling silver
- - 14K palladium white gold, and sterling silver
- - 18K yellow gold, 14K palladium white gold, and 14K red gold
- - 18K yellow gold and 14K palladium white gold
- - 14K palladium white gold, 14K red gold, and sterling silver
- - Sterling silver and iron
- - 22K yellow gold and iron
- - Platinum and sterling silver
- - Palladium 950 and sterling silver
A note about sterling silver: sterling silver is the whitest in color of the metals used. Rings with sterling silver in them tend to best show the contrast of the metals. Bands without sterling silver have a subtler look to the pattern. It's important to remember that sterling silver is required in the metal combination in order to etch the ring; rings with sterling silver in the metal combination are available as both etched and non-etched rings.
