Mokumé Gané Rings with Gems
We can set diamonds and other gemstones in a variety of settings, whether they are provided by you or acquired with our assistance. (Please note that all the rings you see are samples... thus, not all colored gems you see are immediately available - however, we have an extensive collection of colored gems here at the Jewelbox and would be more than happy you find the prefect stones for your design ideas!)
Types of Settings:

Bezel Settings (shown at left with oval diamond) - Diamonds and other gemstones can be set in a (full) bezel setting which totally surrounds the stone. The bezel can be any of the following metals: Platinum, 18K yellow gold, 14K palladium white gold, 14K red gold, and Palladium 950.

Half Bezel Settings (at right) - There are two styles of half bezels: standard half bezel and an open half bezel. A half bezel setting surrounds the stone on two sides and has either a "V" or "U" shaped cut out on two sides. The half bezel can be in any of the same metals as the bezel settings. Diamonds and other gemstones can also be set in an open half bezel setting that surrounds the stone on two sides. The open half bezel can be in any of the following metals: Platinum, 18K yellow gold, 14K palladium white gold, 14K red gold, and Palladium 950. Each of the following ring styles can be made in any of our metal combinations with any of the above metals used for the bezel setting.
Integral Half Bezel & Integral Bezels:
Integral Half Bezel - The diamond or gemstone is set into the band with two cutouts exposing the stone. The width of an integral half bezel ring is determined by the width of the stone being set. The width of the ring at the top where the stone is set is the same as the stone being set. For instance a 0.5 carat diamond is approximately 5mm wide, so the top of the band would be approximately 5mm in width. The ring is then tapered to a more narrow width as it goes down the band (generally about 30%).
Integral Bezel - The diamond or gemstone is set into the band and surrounded by a bezel, usually made of platinum. The width of the ring for a ring with an integral bezel setting is determined by the width of the stone being set. The width of the ring at the top where the stone is set is approximately 2.5mm to 3.0mm wider than the stone being set. For instance a 0.5 carat diamond is approximately 5mm wide, so the top of the band would be approximately 7.5mm in width. The ring is then tapered to a more narrow width as it goes down the band (generally about 30%).
